Currently, Dr. Shawn Stevens serves as Chair, Doctor of Social Science – Prevention Science at Wilmington University. Starting in 2007, he taught as an adjunct professor for the graduate program, Administration of Human Services, and other courses in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. His academic degrees include a B.S. in Psychology, M.S. Health Administration, and an EdD in Education Leadership and Innovation.

Shawn has served in management and executive positions with community-based organizations in Delaware for over 30 years including with American Red Cross, DFRC, Edgemoor Community Center, United Way of Delaware, and the Latin American Community Center. As the Principal of P-Impact, he provided consulting services to nonprofit organizations. He has served on Boards including AFP, DANA, La Academia Antonia Alonso Charter School, and the Delaware Certification Board, and numerous community coalitions and advisory boards.
